Mr. Thom’s role includes business development, marketing, and delivery of Amber’s Operational Certification across the UK & Europe.
Prior to joining Amber, Mr. Thom was an Associate Director and Head of Operational Risk Consulting at Molten Group, where he was one of the founders of the financial services practice. Mr. Thom has ten years of experience in financial services and has focused the last eight years on Operational Risk management. His career background is a combination of investment banking and management consulting, working for Lloyds TSB Stockbrokers, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Deloitte’s risk advisory division.
Mr. Thom specialises in Operational Risk and associated regulation for the financial services sector. His primary areas of expertise include the design, development and implementation of Operational Risk management frameworks, gap analysis, due diligence reviews and benchmarking, Basel II, FSA and European regulation. Mr. Thom has delivered Operational Risk advisory engagements across a variety of clients including Tier 1 banks, stockbrokers, hedge funds and insurance organisations.
